Richard Jones
Richard's 37-year nursing career started entirely by accident. After serving in the United States Air Force as a signal intelligence NCO, he entered civilian life focused on creating a career as a Scientific glassblower. Still, after paying full tuition for the upcoming semester, a corporate-sponsored student bumped him from the program. Scrambling fast for an alternative, he took the suggestion of his mother and grandmother, who were both nurses and entered the nursing program.
After starting in Long Term Care, he eventually found a home in Correctional and Substance Use nursing. The correlation between Corrections and Substance Use is where he began to take a deep interest in easing the struggles of families needing life-saving change. 2ndStarts is the manifestation of the mission.
