May 16, 2023
Karah Gonstead

Today is part of Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK and this is a special bonus episode.

Default parenting is a phenomenon where one parent is assumed to have the primary responsibility for parenting tasks, even when both parents are present. This can lead to a lopsided distribution of parenting duties and create tension and resentment within the family dynamic.

In this episode, we explore the topic of default parenting and its impact on families. Our guest shares her personal experiences with default parenting and provides insights on how to recognize and address this issue. We discuss strategies for creating a more equitable and supportive parenting dynamic, including communication, delegation, and setting boundaries.
