Today is part of Mental Illness Awareness Week in the US and this is a special bonus episode.
When we think of joy, we might associate it with happiness or feeling good. And that’s exactly the feeling we need more of in our lives.
How do you create joy in life, with all the stress and the negative things that are happening? There are many amazing ways that you can bring more joy into your life and help create a balance to any negative feelings.
And it is not as difficult as you may think. Especially in times of crisis or high stress, finding joy is such an important part of self-care. And caring for our own mental health is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves.
Lauren Aleza Raymond started her professional career as an elementary school teacher in 1995 in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado. In 2003 she relocated to Avon, in the beautiful Colorado Rockies to continue teaching. Soon after, Lauren began to coach teachers to better their practice in the classroom.
Once she had children, the family goal was to raise happy, healthy, respectful, and mindful children.
In 2017 she hired her coach to help her discover her purpose. While deep diving into her life with her coach, more and more came out that she worked on and shifted in her life. Learning to embrace the feeling of JOY at work, more with her kids, and regaining that back with her husband. This is where Daily Joy LLC was born.
She has coached Moms on bringing more joy to their lives and in their parenting. Her family recently started a podcast called Navigating Joy Together where they discuss how to continue to navigate joy during their daily lives. She also recently published a memoir called "My Dad Died From ALS and How I Found JOY 30 Years Later".
